Exceptional cel setups from the Leaf Boat scene are rare, because only some of the characters are in the shot, they are in exaggerated poses, covered by either water effects, and/or the tilting of the leaf boat. Veteran voice actor and the original head of the Walt Disney Sound Effects Department, James MacDonald, provided the "voice" of Evinrude. Evinrude's name is derived from the Evinrude Outboard Motor Company, and the sounds he makes powering the leaf boat are very similiar to the sounds made by a real outboard boat motor.
